Waste in Paradise
Sean Kobi Sandoval
Chapter 2 | This is Home. This is Gold.
In 2019, returned home to reconnect with former friends whom I haven’t seen in up to 10-years. They seem to all be wasting away in the presumed paradise of Huntington Beach, California, failed by a system incapable to nurture those who don’t fit into society’s standards. This city was once our playground, but at some point, even I made the subconscious decision to leave. To be fair, it’s easy to get comfortable living here. Maybe if I stayed I would have ended up wasting away in my hometown. This video is a part of my research about reflecting on my former community and where I grew up to then help guide me to where I am going.
